A name and two dates, separated by a small dash, can't hold a whole life. That dash stands in for the laughter, the hard-won lessons, the love stories, the ordinary Tuesdays — the entire journey. The Voice They Leave exists to fill in that dash.
From the founder.
My name is Matthew Kriegh. I started The Voice They Leave after realising something simple: when we lose someone, the thing we miss first isn't their face — it's their voice. The way they laughed. The phrase only they used. The story told again every holiday until you could recite it.
We keep photographs of the people we love, and almost no recordings of them talking. I didn't want another family to discover that too late, and I didn't want the fix to require a film crew, a big budget, or any technical confidence at all. So the whole service is built to be done from a phone, at a kitchen table, in an afternoon.
This is an early, owner-run company. When you email us, I'm the one who answers. There is no call centre and no sales team — which means I would rather tell you plainly what we can and can't promise than dress it up. That's why the examples on this site are labelled as examples, why the demonstration memorial says so on the page, and why our hosting promise is written down instead of shouted in a headline.
